Clean the basket plug

1. Baking soda + vinegar (classic household method)

  • Remove the drain basket plug from the sink.
  • Sprinkle a tablespoon of baking soda (washing soda) into the strainer and opening.
  • Pour some white distilled vinegar over it – it will fizz.
  • Let it work for 5–10 minutes.
  • Scrub the drain basket plug and the insert piece with a brush.
  • Rinse thoroughly with warm water.

2. Dish soap + toothbrush (for daily maintenance)

  • Soak the drain basket plug in hot water with a little dish soap.
  • Use an old toothbrush to loosen food residue and grease.
  • Rinse off and dry with a cloth.

3. Lemon + salt (natural and fresh)

  • Cut a lemon in half, dip the cut side in table salt.
  • Rub this over the drain basket plug to remove grease, buildup, and odor.
  • Let it work briefly and rinse with hot water.
