What is the center-to-center distance of a shower faucet?
The center-to-center distance of a faucet refers to the distance between the centers of the connections, usually on a wall-mounted faucet or a thermostatic shower faucet.
For standard wall-mounted faucets (such as shower or bath faucets), the center-to-center distance is usually:
- 150 mm (the standard measurement in the Netherlands and many other European countries)
- Sometimes 120 mm (on older installations or specific models)
You measure from the center of the connection.

With kitchen or sink faucets, the center-to-center distance is mentioned less frequently, because these usually have one connection and the measurement depends on the mounting holes.
Some kitchen faucets (classic faucets) have 2 connections on the countertop, in which case you do speak of a center-to-center distance.
- Often 180mm
- Sometimes adjustable between 140 and 230mm by means of S-couplings.
