Do you notice that the lid of your Wesco Kickmaster (half shells) keeps staying open? Usually this is caused by one of the following reasons:
- The valve ring where the shells are attached is damaged or broken.
- The spring(s) that close the lid are worn out or exhausted.
Order a new valve ring
You can easily order a replacement valve ring via the official Wesco parts.

How do I replace the valve ring

Check springs and replace if necessary
- Check if there is a spring on both sides of the holder.
- If they are stretched or damaged, replace them to restore the closing function.
- Is a spring missing or is it loose/incorrectly installed? Then the flap can:
- close unevenly
- not spring back properly
- stay open
Do not use temporary solutions (such as wire or other fasteners), but make sure the springs are correctly and evenly installed.

If necessary, we recommend replacing both springs for proper operation.
Order your new springs here ---> Kickmaster spring
"Valve ring of the Kickmaster – one spring is visible here (normally there are two), which can lead to a poorly closing lid."

"Spring of the Kickmaster with broken hook/eye – can cause the lid to no longer close properly."
