Blanco 118939 basket plug

This original 118939 Blanco basket strainer plug fits various Blanco sinks. The Blanco basket strainer acts as a sieve, keeping food scraps out of your drain. Push the plug down and it seals the drain of your Blanco sink completely, so it also works as a stopper. That way you can use the sink for washing up by hand. The Blanco basket strainer is made of chrome-plated brass, so it won't rust. The strainer is round with a shiny chrome finish. This Blanco basket strainer plug comes complete with a steel pin, sealing rubber and plastic ring. It has a black rubber ring around a transparent plastic ring.

If the basket plug sinks into the sink and no longer stays up, you'll need a new one. In that case, the ball has most likely dropped out of the pin.
The older 117561 strainer had 18 angled slots with a slightly more rounded bowl, but the same base (raised transparent plastic ring with rubber around it, used from 1995 to 2008)

Caring for your Blanco 118939 basket strainer plug

You can clean the Blanco basket strainer sink plug by putting it in the dishwasher, so all dirt residue comes off the strainer. For stubborn tea stains, a soapy solution works well - non-aggressive cleaning products, dish soap and all-purpose cleaner are great alternatives. Use a scouring pad for this (not a pan scourer!). This will help you thoroughly clean the plug and remove grease and baked-on residue. Afterwards, use a microfibre cloth to give the strainer a nice polish. If the rubber on your basket strainer plug is worn out, you can't order a replacement rubber separately - in that case you'll need a new basket strainer plug.
