A filter shut-off valve sits between your kitchen tap and the water supply line, catching debris from the pipe before it reaches the internal parts of your tap. This means the ceramic discs in your tap wear out more slowly, so your tap lasts longer. On top of that, with the filter shut-off valve closed, you can easily remove the tap without having to shut off the main water supply.

This filter shut-off valve is universal and fits both 12mm and 15mm pipes. A 12mm and 15mm union nut are included, so you can connect it to either pipe size. You can also screw the filter shut-off valve into a 1/2'' wall plate.

You'll need 2 filter shut-off valves per tap: one for the cold water connection and one for the hot water connection. This way, both lines are protected from debris and your tap keeps working properly.

The connection from the flexible hose to the tap is 3/8''. This is a standard size that fits most taps, so you can easily screw the tap onto the filter shut-off valve without needing extra adapters.

It's a good idea to clean the small filter about once a year. Regular cleaning keeps the filter shut-off valve working properly and prevents debris from still reaching the internal parts of your tap.
