This genuine Quooker filter sits inside the tank of your Quooker and purifies the water from contaminants. It's recommended to replace this filter every 5 years to keep the water quality up to standard.
This filter fits all models supplied from 2001 onwards (basically anything still working today).
Check out the guide here for replacing the filter.
The HiTAC® filter is an activated carbon filter. Activated carbon reduces biodegradable components and micropollutants such as medicine residues, pesticides, herbicides and PFAS, which can sometimes affect the smell, colour and taste of drinking water. Thanks to its catalytic properties, the filter also breaks down oxidative, reactive substances such as chlorine.
After connecting the Quooker system, flush the tank once for two minutes until the water runs clear. Press the notched knob twice and then turn it; the light ring on the tap will show red. Some black water will come out first — this is activated carbon from the filter and is harmless to your health.
Quooker recommends servicing the system once every five years, depending on the water hardness in your area. Sometimes replacing the HiTAC® filter is enough, other times you'll need a complete maintenance kit. After replacing the filter, flush the tank with water for at least two minutes.
If you're going on holiday for more than three days, it's more economical to switch off the Quooker system. You do this using the switch shaped like a 'Q' on top of the tank; on older tanks, it's located on the right at the back of the cover, next to the LED cable. When you get back home, let the system run for a minute first to bleed the air out before using it again.
A used filter can safely be disposed of with your household waste.
