Leakage at the inlet combination of the Quooker

When there is leakage at the inlet combination of the Quooker, there are several possible causes. Fortunately, the problem can be easily resolved in many cases.

1. Check the hose for dirt or limescale

A common cause of leakage is contamination in the hose. Limescale, dirt or scale can obstruct water flow, causing water to come out through the top of the inlet combination.

Solution

  • Disconnect the hose
  • Rinse the hose thoroughly with water
  • Or blow the hose gently through
  • Check for dirt, limescale or scale

In most cases, the problem is resolved after the hose has been thoroughly cleaned.

It is possible that water comes out of the inlet combination when water is being drained or when the installation builds up pressure.

In some situations, water takes the path of least resistance and can come out through the overflow of the inlet combination.

Possible solution

In this case, we recommend installing a check valve. A check valve prevents water from flowing back towards the inlet combination.

Additionally, a red fiber ring must be placed on the right side of the inlet combination before it is connected to the valve. If this ring is missing or not properly installed, it can also cause leakage.

The red fiber ring is part of a separate ring set and can also be ordered separately if needed.
