Replace Franke Mondial Perforator
It may happen that the perforator of your Franke Mondial boiling water tap needs to be replaced.
Here we explain how to replace it and what you may encounter and what to do about it.
If the perforator needs to be removed from the spout, it is wise to first give it a few taps on the bottom of the perforator. This startles the perforator and will be easier to disassemble later.
Next, make sure that all the holes on the edge of the perforator are clean.
After this, you insert the perforator key into the holes and make sure it sits straight and all the teeth fall into the holes and turn the perforator counterclockwise (to the left) to loosen it.
Now you can replace the perforator incl. sleeve or just the loose strainer.
It sometimes happens that the grey plastic part, which should remain in the spout, also comes loose when unscrewing.
This can usually be removed by holding the grey plastic in your hand, then giving it a few taps with a hammer on the top (visible part) of the perforator.
You can also soak it in cleaning vinegar and then rinse it off, or soak it in boiling water so it gets a temperature shock.
After that, hold the plastic firmly in your hand or carefully with a water pump pliers and then use the key to unscrew the top.
Now you can remove the perforator from the sleeve and replace it.
If the plastic is really very
stuck and breaks then unfortunately you will need a
new spout, so the advice is to disassemble it carefully according to the steps above.
